special project: nhpr facility
Here at New Hope Pet Rescue, our mission is to save unwanted pets in Michigan and across the nation, who are marked for euthanasia in kill shelters. As a foster-based rescue, we don't have a shelter facility to house our animals, rather we rely on a network of passionate fosters to house, care for, transport to vetting and events, and love on our animals in rescue until they are matched with a forever home. As our work has grown, so have our needs - saving over 1,400 animals a year requires more dollars raised, more resources and supplies, and more coordination of our growing team.
But we're not slowing down - because this work is too important! As we look forward to what comes next, we are looking to construct or renovate a NHPR facility where we can host adoption events, sell merchandise and collect donations, intake new animals, provide a vetting location for fosters, etc. We still believe in the power and success of the foster model, but we know that a facility of our own empowers us to have a true home-base for our fosters, animals and adopters.
we need your help!
ICYMI, we do a heck of a lot at NHPR - our volunteer staff team not only manages our team of fosters, but also interfaces with shelters, organizes rescue events, manages this website, coordinates volunteers and SO MUCH MORE. We are in the early stages of this facility planning, and we're looking for experienced community members to serve on a volunteer Facility Advisory Committee. This committee will be integral in developing "the plan," i.e. helping us create a budget, develop criteria for the right building, create a project timeline, etc., and eventually helping us bring the project to life. If you have a passion for our work, and are looking to give back, please apply!
